In Jan 2015, a High Intensity Focused ultrasound tumor therapeutic equipment developed by Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology Co., Ltd. was transported to Myanmar. In mid-June, the vice minister of Ministry of Health attended the equipment enabling ceremony held in Rangoon specialized hospital, declaring that noninvasive treatment technology officially lands on Myanmar. The vice minister encouraged Burmese doctors to learn from Chinese counterparts and master the ultrasound ablation technology as soon as possible to benefit Burmese patients.

Dr. Chen Li from Chongqing Haifu Hospital helped doctors in Myanmar for a month as an instructing physician.According to Dr. Chen, Rangoon Specialized Hospital holds a high position in Myanmar, where HIFU device is mainly used for the treatment of liver cancer. and 9 patients with liver cancer have successfully undergone HIFU treatment so far. Not only government officials, but doctors and patients speak high of HIFU technology.

Myanmar is known to be a country relatively underdeveloped in economy as well as with high incidence of hepatitis and liver cancer. The introduction of HIFU technology will undoubtedly benefit more Burmese.
